Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is at it again, folks—lecturing the world on foreign policy as if she’s got the monopoly on morality. This time, she’s waded into Israel’s counterintelligence operation against Hezbollah and declared it a war crime. AOC, with no military or legal background, has once again positioned herself as the ultimate judge on international warfare. Because who needs experts when you’ve got Twitter followers, right?
Last week, Israeli officials reportedly carried out a massive counter-terrorism operation by remotely detonating pagers and electronic devices in the hands of Hezbollah fighters—let’s not mince words here, tеrrorists—who were allegedly gearing up to assist Hamas in their war against Israel. This was no small operation; it was designed to take out Hezbollah’s ability to fight alongside Hamas. But in Ocasio-Cortez’s world, defending yourself from bloodthirsty tеrrorists equates to a “war crime” that deserves international prosecution. Sure, because tеrrorists are the ones we should be worried about offending.
Chris Cuomo, of all people, stepped in to lay down the facts. Yes, Chris Cuomo. He flat-out said that AOC was “dead wrong” in her accusations, and honestly, that’s putting it politely. Cuomo pointed out what should be obvious to anyone with a modicum of common sense: Israel doesn’t follow U.S. laws, and their counter-terrorism operations don’t require a permission slip from the State Department. But Ocasio-Cortez is quick to label Israel’s actions as some sort of violation of “international humanitarian law” and—get this—U.S. policy. Maybe someone should let her know that Israel, as a sovereign nation, isn’t bound by American legal codes.

Shoot aim fire⁰Why did AOC blame Israel for attacking terrorists that are sworn to their destruction? We are on the brink of war and you need to know where people stand. pic.twitter.com/Gpn7KssQlk

Cuomo also exposed AOC’s amateurish citation of a Department of Defense manual, where she conveniently left out the part that justifies the use of booby traps and mines in combat situations—especially when you’re dealing with, say, tеrrorists. Whoops! Did she not read that part, or did she just skip it because it didn’t fit her narrative? I’d put my money on the latter.
And while she’s oh-so-concerned about Hezbollah fighters getting taken out, she’s been suspiciously quiet about more domestic threats of violence. I don’t remember hearing AOC condemn the assassination attempt on Trump, or the death threats targeting Rep. Anna Paulina Luna. Funny how the concern for human life seems to be selective, huh?
But hey, who needs facts when you can score virtue points on social media by attacking Israel?
