There’s a certain kind of cringe that only comes around once a year — and no, I’m not talking about tax season. I’m talking about corporate America’s desperate, rainbow-drenched pander-fest known as “Pride Month.” June rolls around and suddenly every soda can, shopping bag, and cereal box gets plastered with some version of the LGBT flag. Nothing says “authentic support” like a billion-dollar corporation trying to sell you discounted tank tops with terrible puns about sexuality.
Walmart, naturally, didn’t want to miss out on the marketing madness. But this year, it looks like their annual “Pride” merch drop blew up in their face harder than usual — and not just with the usual crowd of conservatives and parents who’ve had enough. This time, even actual LGBT people are throwing shade.
A video posted on TikTok by a relatively unknown LGBT content creator went massively viral, racking up over 5 million views — and not because of celebration, but embarrassment. The TikToker, while browsing Walmart’s Pride section, joked, “Not even going to lie to y’all, Walmart really making me not even want to be gay no more,” while holding up a shirt that said “Homo Estas.” Yep. That’s a real thing. A rainbow play on “como estas,” only this time featuring the word “homo” front and center in bold, multicolored glory. This is the level of creativity being cooked up in Walmart’s design department.
She then panned through more equally embarrassing apparel, ending the clip by saying, “We could just go ahead and skip Pride month, because…” and trailing off with a face that basically said everything that needed to be said.
The video exploded on X and comments poured in from all sides — most of them mocking Walmart’s woke-by-committee creativity with the same level of sarcasm you’d expect from a nation that’s long since burned out on forced corporate activism.

This isn’t just a one-off. It’s the latest in a growing trend. Americans are getting tired of the performative garbage, and yes, that even includes some people in the demographic these corporations think they’re winning over. The election of President Trump gave this country a much-needed spine again — people are no longer afraid to say, “Enough with the forced pride parades in the toy aisle.”
Walmart tried to cash in on identity politics and got clowned by the very people they were pandering to. That’s not just ironic — it’s hilarious. And long overdue.
