J.D. Vance just served up a textbook lesson in how to handle the left-wing media. In his recent sit-down with The New York Times, Vance took on a few hot-button issues, and let’s just say he didn’t mince words. The liberal media loves to play gotcha games, but it’s clear that they picked the wrong guy this time. Vance tore through their usual talking points, particularly when it came to illegal immigration and housing.
When the reporter, Lulu Garcia-Navarro, tried to corner him on the supposedly dire need for illegal workers to fill construction jobs, Vance didn’t hold back. She pushed the tired line that without illegal immigrants, America just couldn’t possibly build enough homes. Vance, with a smirk that could cut glass, gave her a history lesson, pointing out that back in the 1960s—when illegal immigration was far lower—construction companies had no problem finding American workers. What’s changed isn’t the supply of workers, he argued, but corporate America’s craving for cheap, exploitable labor. In Vance’s words, this is all about profits over people. He’s right, of course. Companies aren’t hiring illegals out of the goodness of their hearts—they’re doing it because it’s cheap.
And when Garcia-Navarro threw out the claim that the country’s much larger now and has a greater need for workers, Vance was ready. He fired back with the often-ignored fact that millions of prime-age American men and women have dropped out of the workforce, thanks largely to the dismal policies of Harris and Biden. Vance made a solid point: Americans will do these jobs—they just won’t do them for the “poverty wages” offered to illegal workers.
This is where Vance really shines. He didn’t just defend American workers; he highlighted how the flood of illegal labor is decimating the American middle class. And he’s absolutely right. The establishment would rather look to Central America than pay American citizens a living wage. Vance called it out for what it is: a slap in the face to every American worker. Why try to hire and reengage U.S. citizens when you can just import cheap labor?
What Vance said next should be a wake-up call. This system—driven by corporations eager to exploit illegal labor—is a massive driver of inequality. Instead of helping struggling Americans get back on their feet, the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies are importing the poverty wages that have wrecked so many communities. It’s a disgrace, and it’s gutting the American dream from the inside out.
JD Vance schools the host on negative impact illegal immigration has on the economy.
Host: The reason that there is a housing crisis is that not enough houses have been built.

So, hats off to Vance for standing firm. In a media landscape where the narrative is so often skewed, it’s refreshing to see someone with the backbone to challenge the status quo and stand up for the American worker.
