Trump’s Approval Skyrockets to Record High—Media Forced to Eat Their Words

If Democrats and globalist Republicans thought President Trump’s bold new tariff policy would tank his popularity, they’re probably choking on their lattes right now. Despite days of media hysterics, stock market hand-wringing, and Beltway pearl-clutching, Trump’s approval rating has surged to near record highs. That’s right—Americans aren’t buying the doom-and-gloom narrative. They’re backing the guy who’s finally putting their jobs and industries first.

According to a new poll from J.L. Partners conducted with the Daily Mail, Trump’s approval rating climbed to 53%, up four points from just a week ago. The kicker? This boost came after he dropped sweeping tariffs on dozens of America’s so-called “trading partners” on April 2, which the media breathlessly dubbed a potential economic apocalypse. Voters saw it differently.

Even more stunning, Trump’s approval among voters aged 18 to 29 shot up a massive 13 points since March 7. Yes, Gen Z and young Millennials—the same crowd the media claims is hopelessly progressive—are rallying behind Trump’s America First economics. Among black voters, Trump’s favorability jumped 17 points in just a week. Add in a 6-point increase among Democrats and independents, and the 45th—and 47th—president is looking stronger than ever.

Trump’s universal 10% tariff policy—mocked by the establishment as reckless—received more support than opposition in the poll. 36% approve, while only 28% disapprove. The rest? Still making up their minds. That’s not bad for a policy the entire D.C. consultant class said would sink him.

Support is also growing for targeted tariffs, especially in sectors critical to national security like steel, precious metals, and aircraft. Voters understand something the think tankers don’t: if you don’t make it at home, you’re at the mercy of people who don’t like you.

And foreign governments are starting to get it, too. Taiwan is rushing to drop its own trade barriers and announced a $65 billion investment in U.S. semiconductor plants. Vietnam and India are lining up to cut tariffs. Even globalist U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer admitted Trump’s policies are “understandable” and plans to tell Brits this week that globalism has failed.

It’s clear: Trump’s “Liberation Day” trade reset isn’t just popular—it’s working. While the media shrieks and Wall Street moans, the American people are siding with the only guy in Washington who’s actually fighting for them.
