As expected, Kamala Harris came out firing lie after lie during the debate on Tuesday night. But it wasn’t anything to be concerned about because President Trump was prepared and he didn’t waste any time pushing back when Kamala Harris falsely claimed during the debate that he plans to implement “Project 2025,” a policy plan created by a conservative think tank known as the Heritage Foundation which is based out of Washington, D.C.
Harris said, “I’m going to tell you all on this debate tonight, you’re going to hear from the same old tired playbook, a bunch of lies, grievances, and name calling. What you’re going to hear tonight is a detailed and dangerous plan called Project 2025 that the former president intends on implementing if he were elected again.” But that claim just wasn’t true.
Trump shot back, saying, “Number one, I have nothing to do, as you know, and as she knows better than anyone, I have nothing to do with Project 2025. That’s out there. I haven’t read it. I don’t want to read it, purposely. I’m not going to read it. This was a group of people that got together. They came up with some ideas, I guess some good, some bad. But it makes no difference.”
He continued, “Everybody knows I’m an open book. Everybody knows what I’m going to do. Cut taxes very substantially and create a great economy like I did before.”

Several news outlets, including USA Today, have already corrected Harris’s false claims about Trump being connected to Project 2025. Paul Dans, one of the founders of Project 2025, has even confirmed that Trump has no involvement with the plan.
So, while Harris tried to tie Trump to the policy, it’s clear he has nothing to do with it and has his own ideas for what he’d do if re-elected.
