Maria Bartiromo GRILLS James Comer: “Where are the Criminal Referrals?

In a heated exchange on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Fox News host Maria Bartiromo grilled House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer about the lack of criminal referrals in the ongoing investigation into the Biden family’s alleged corruption. “Where are the criminal referrals for Hunter Biden and James Biden over perjury, for lying to Congress?” Bartiromo demanded. Her pointed questions underline a widespread frustration among conservatives eager to see accountability for what they perceive as blatant misconduct.

So, what’s the hold-up? According to Comer, the investigations are just getting started. He assured Bartiromo that the Oversight Committee is diligently working to bring all the shady dealings to light, including those involving Joe Biden himself. Comer emphasized that this investigation has always been about Joe Biden, with Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, Eric Schwerin, and Devin Archer serving as key witnesses in uncovering an intricate web of influence-peddling schemes.

One of the significant hurdles, Comer pointed out, is the statute of limitations. Some of the alleged crimes committed by the Bidens have already surpassed this legal timeframe. However, Comer reassured viewers that any criminal referrals made to the Department of Justice (DOJ) will fall within the five-year statute of limitations, allowing future administrations to pursue these cases if the current DOJ led by Merrick Garland fails to act.

“We published a 60-page report full of hard evidence that no one has disputed,” Comer stated, emphasizing the thoroughness of the investigation. He hinted at an imminent interim report updating the public on the findings, which he insists will include substantial proof of crimes committed by Joe Biden and his associates dating back to the Obama administration.

Bartiromo, not one to let up easily, questioned Comer on using the committee’s subpoena power more aggressively. “You have subpoena power. Why not subpoena these people as well? Put them in the hot seat,” she pressed. Comer responded by highlighting the difficulty of subpoenaing a sitting president, something even the Democrats couldn’t achieve with Donald Trump. Despite this challenge, he remains confident that the committee’s depositions and interviews with various Biden associates will be pivotal in holding the Biden family accountable.

Adding fuel to the fire, Comer’s comments suggest that the ultimate goal is to build a case solid enough to stand the test of time and scrutiny, regardless of the political landscape. “The next step will be accountability for Joe Biden,” he proclaimed, indicating that the investigation is far from over and promising more revelations in the near future.

The real question now is whether Republicans will follow through with criminal referrals against what some are calling the “Biden Crime Family.” Critics are skeptical, but the pressure is on for the GOP to deliver results. As Comer and the Oversight Committee continue their pursuit, the American public waits with bated breath, eager to see if justice will indeed be served.
