Well, it didn’t take long for the activist judges to crawl out from behind their gavel thrones and start hacking away at President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani—a classic Obama bench pick—decided she knows better than the entire elected branch of government and temporarily blocked the bill’s provision that would’ve stopped Medicaid dollars from flowing into Planned Parenthood’s coffers.
Talwani issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) that halts the defunding effort for 14 days while a preliminary injunction hearing is scheduled for July 21. Translation? Planned Parenthood gets to keep pocketing taxpayer money for a little while longer, thanks to the same kind of judicial overreach conservatives have been battling for decades.

No one is stopping them from offering abortions—they just can’t expect the American taxpayer to foot the bill while they do it. But that, apparently, is too radical for the left and the liberal legal establishment.
Planned Parenthood, naturally, freaked out. CEO Alexis McGill Johnson immediately pulled out the usual melodramatic talking points about “access to care” and “attacks on health care.” Give us a break. Abortion is not health care. Ending life is not a “service.” And don’t forget, Planned Parenthood still rakes in nearly half a billion in taxpayer dollars annually—even though they claim abortion is just a “small percentage” of what they do. Sure. And Bud Light is just water.
CNN jumped in to cry about 200 potential clinic closures nationwide, conveniently skipping over the fact that none of that would happen if Planned Parenthood simply stopped performing abortions. But of course, that’s the sacred cow of the progressive movement. They’ll give up plastic straws and gas stoves before they give up their abortion mills.
President Trump signed the Big Beautiful Bill on July 4, fittingly, right in the face of the liberal blob that’s tried to derail him from day one. This bill was passed legally, through Congress, reflecting the will of the people. But now, yet again, a federal judge is trying to block it because Planned Parenthood stamped its feet and ran to mommy.
It’s time for conservatives to realize the battle isn’t just in Congress or at the ballot box. It’s in the courts. Until we drain the judicial swamp too, these unelected judges will keep trying to override the will of the people every chance they get.
