Democrats are having a bit of a crisis. And by “bit,” I mean a full-blown, hold-your-horses, this-doesn’t-look-good-at-all kind of crisis. The recent Michigan Primary seems to be spelling disaster for the Democrats… or should I say, disaster for Biden? The numbers don’t lie, folks. A significant chunk of Michigan Democrats – nearly 20 percent – decided to vote “uncommitted” in protest of Biden’s presidency. Yup, you heard that right. They’d rather vote for nobody than back the incumbent president. Now, isn’t that something?
Leading this rebellious charge is none other than Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who has been urging voters to use their primary vote as a form of protest. She’s not mincing her words either. In a video statement, Tlaib said, “I was proud today to walk in and pull a democratic ballot and vote uncommitted. We must protect our democracy. We must make sure that our government is about us, about the people.”
Now, here’s where it gets even more interesting. The uncommitted campaign surpassed its goal of 10,000 votes with less than eight percent of ballots counted. According to the Associated Press, 15,954 Michigan Democrats have already voted “uncommitted”. This leaves Biden’s vote share at a measly 78.42 percent.
Let’s put that into perspective, shall we? When Trump ran as an incumbent in 2020, he secured over 90 percent of the GOP vote. It seems like the Democrats could learn a thing or two from us Republicans when it comes to loyalty and support.
This looks really bad for Democrats. So far, 16% of Democrat voters voted "Uncommitted" as a protest to Joe Biden. In comparison, Trump got close to 94% of the vote in the 2020 Michigan Republican party as the incumbent President

The number of uncommitted voters is already surpassing the margin of victory Trump needed to defeat Hilary Clinton in 2016. If even half of these uncommitted voters refuse to come back to Biden in November, it will spell disaster for the Democrats.
The Real Clear Polling average of more than a dozen polls suggests Trump is currently leading Biden in Michigan by 5.1 percentage points. It seems like the “most popular president,” as some like to call him, isn’t so popular after all.
So, what does this mean? Simply put, the Democrats are in trouble. Big trouble. But hey, who am I to complain? As a true Republican, I can’t help but feel a little satisfied watching this unfold. After all, it’s always entertaining to watch the other team scramble, isn’t it?
