J6 Committee Members May Face Criminal Charges!

Hold onto your hats, everyone! We’re diving deep into the political rabbit hole today. We got ourselves a big fish on the line – U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA). That’s right, he’s hinting at the possibility of criminal referrals for members of the House January 6 Committee.

Loudermilk has been scrutinizing the committee’s actions. This is no ordinary committee, mind you. It broke more than a century of House precedent when then-GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was barred from selecting opposition members. And what’s more, the committee allegedly destroyed documents, text messages, and other records. All this despite McCarthy’s orders to preserve all investigation-related records.

Loudermilk had a chat with John Solomon of Just The News earlier this week. He suggested that the House might be drafting criminal referrals for former Reps. Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), and others. He said, “As far as holding people accountable, yes, they should be.” But he also mentioned that this could be a while in coming because there’s a lot more information to gather. They need to build a case and see how extensive it could potentially be for obstructing.

The Georgia Republican didn’t stop there. He stated that if the members are shielded from prosecution, other measures like censorship or referrals to the House Ethics Committee are also up for consideration. He pointed out that some members of that select committee are no longer members of Congress, so they might fall under a different scenario.

The January 6 committee hasn’t exactly been a shining beacon of truth, according to reports. They hired a Hollywood producer to jazz up their primetime hearings and allegedly spread misinformation. One example? Aired testimony from former Trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who claimed that Trump tried to take control of a Secret Service vehicle’s steering wheel and drive back to the Capitol when protests turned into a riot. This claim has been debunked by Secret Service agents themselves.

So, there you have it, a riveting tale of political intrigue and potential consequences. Remember, in politics, truth is often stranger than fiction.
