J.D. Vance Annihilates CBS News Host on the Border Crisis

Vice President J.D. Vance isn’t exactly the kind of guy who’s going to roll over when confronted by a smug, leftist media operative like CBS News’ Margaret Brennan. On Sunday’s episode of Face The Nation, Brennan tried her best to corner Vance on President Trump’s tough immigration executive orders, but let’s just say—it didn’t go well for her.

Brennan, who earned quite the reputation for her blatantly biased performance during the Trump-Harris debate (if you can even call it that), came out swinging with the usual talking points. She zeroed in on the legal challenges surrounding Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship, quoting a Reagan-appointed judge who called it “blatantly unconstitutional.” But Vance didn’t blink. He reminded Brennan that legal battles were expected, and that this issue—like many others—will ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court. He then dropped a truth bomb about birthright citizenship that the left doesn’t like to hear:

“If you come here on vacation and have a baby in an American hospital, that baby doesn’t become an American citizen,” Vance said. “If you’re an illegal alien and come here temporarily, your child shouldn’t automatically get elite status just because they were born here.”

Seems like common sense, right? Well, not to Brennan, who immediately defaulted to the tired “nation of immigrants” cliché. But Vance, as sharp as ever, wasn’t having it. “Sure, this country was founded by immigrants,” he said, “but that doesn’t mean we have to have the dumbest immigration policy in the world.” Ouch.

Vance made it clear that American citizenship should be reserved for people who follow the law and go through the proper channels—not for anyone who can sneak across the border or pop out a kid while on vacation. As he pointed out, no other country on earth hands out citizenship like Halloween candy to people who have no intention of staying. It’s basic national security and economic sanity—two things the left seems allergic to.

The conversation then shifted to the absolute disaster that was the Biden administration’s immigration policy—ten million illegal aliens and asylum seekers flooding in, many from countries that can’t even properly vet their own citizens. Brennan, in typical liberal fashion, tried to downplay the risks, claiming these people are properly vetted. But Vance wasn’t buying it. He reminded her that terrorists have already slipped through the cracks, including an Afghan national who was recently arrested in Oklahoma for planning an attack on Election Day.

And here’s where Vance really landed the knockout punch. “I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted,” he said. “And because I don’t want it for my kids, I’m not going to force any other American citizen’s kids to do that either.” That’s the kind of leadership America needs—someone who actually cares about Americans first, rather than catering to some leftist fantasy of open borders and globalist nonsense.

Brennan, of course, tried to downplay the Oklahoma terror plot as an “isolated incident,” but Vance wasn’t having any of it. “I don’t really care, Margaret. I don’t want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me.”

At the end of the day, Vance proved once again that he’s got the backbone and common sense that the left-wing media just can’t handle. While they’re busy crying about “xenophobia,” the rest of us are just glad someone in Washington is actually putting America First.
