Ilhan Omar Tries to Take on MTG, Soon Realizes It Was a Huge Mistake

The debate over a potential pardon for former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is heating up, and leave it to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to throw gasoline on the fire — much to the dismay of “Squad” Democrat Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who kicked off a war of words and instantly found herself on the losing end.

The feud ignited after Greene reacted to news that Minnesota officials are preparing for possible riots if President Trump pardons Chauvin. Chauvin is currently serving a combined 43.5 years in federal and state prison for the 2020 death of George Floyd. While the media loves to call it “murder,” the facts of the case — including Floyd’s lethal levels of fentanyl and preexisting heart disease — have sparked a growing chorus of voices demanding a reevaluation.

MTG didn’t hold back. “I strongly support Derek Chauvin being pardoned and released from prison. George Floyd died of a drug overdose,” she posted on X.

That sent Ilhan Omar into an immediate meltdown. “Absolutely vile,” she fumed. “Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd in a modern day lynching.” Omar went on to gloat that even if Trump pardons Chauvin federally, he’ll remain imprisoned on state charges. That may be legally correct, but her smugness couldn’t shield her from Greene’s infamous clapbacks.

Ouch.

Omar, clearly rattled, tried to save face but her district’s Somali community has long whispered the same story. Deny it all she wants, the accusation won’t go away.

Not to be left out, “Squad” member Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) jumped into the fight, accusing Greene of lying about Floyd’s cause of death. But Greene came prepared, posting the toxicology report showing fentanyl and norfentanyl in Floyd’s system.

“George Floyd died from a drug overdose,” Greene wrote. “Jasmine Crockett doesn’t care about Americans killed by drugs like George Floyd, she cares about protecting cartels from being deported.”

Once again, the left’s attempt to play moral referee backfired. The more they defend narratives over facts, the easier they make it for fighters like MTG to tear it all down — one brutal truth at a time.
