It’s always funny watching Democrats fall for their own hysteria. Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter—now X—and made free speech a priority, the left has been in full-blown panic mode. They’re terrified of parody accounts, satire, and anything that even remotely challenges their narrative. Enter Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), who just embarrassed himself by rage-posting over a fake Lara Trump account.
Murphy, like many of his fellow Democrats, has apparently lost the ability to distinguish between real posts and obvious satire. The senator went on an expletive-filled rant after seeing a post from an account named @laratrumppage, which is not the actual page of Lara Trump, President Trump’s daughter-in-law. The post in question called for border czar Tom Homan to arrest Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Murphy took the bait—hook, line, and sinker.
“It takes some f***ing gall to have Vance lecturing Europe on ‘free speech’ when at the exact same time the Trump regime is threatening Democrats back home with arrest if they even explain people’s rights to them,” Murphy raged, before realizing (probably after being laughed at) that he had been duped by a parody account.

The White House promptly replied back:
You are a moron, Chris. It is obvious this page is not affiliated with President Trump, his family, or the administration.
We do, however, support your right to make such a statement, no matter how imbecilic it makes you look. https://t.co/B7AYRAjJ46

This meltdown comes after Vice President J.D. Vance delivered a speech at the Munich Security Conference, where he rightly criticized Europe’s increasingly authoritarian crackdown on “so-called misinformation.” And what does Murphy do in response? He proves Vance’s point exactly—that the left is so desperate to control the narrative that they can’t even tolerate jokes.
But Murphy isn’t the only one losing his mind over this. AOC is also in full panic mode, not because of a parody account, but because she’s actively encouraging illegal immigrants to resist law enforcement. She recently posted a series of tips in English and Spanish instructing migrants on how to “defend” themselves against ICE, telling them to tape up posters in workplaces and homes, warning them against cooperating with authorities.
“Our strategic advantage in this moment is our strength in numbers,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote, adding, “The truth is, they cannot come after us all.” Translation: She’s openly telling illegal immigrants to band together and ignore federal immigration enforcement. You’d think a sitting congresswoman would be more interested in enforcing the law, but no—AOC is more focused on protecting illegal immigrants than she is on protecting American citizens.
So while Murphy is busy embarrassing himself over a parody account, AOC is actively undermining immigration enforcement. But sure, let’s keep pretending that free speech is the real threat.
