Democrat Governor Vows to Defy Trump’s Deportation Plans: Promises to Use ‘Executive Power’ to Shield Criminal Aliens

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey isn’t just drawing a line in the sand — she’s building a whole wall of her own. Healey, a Democrat, has made it crystal clear she will use every legal weapon in her arsenal to thwart any mass deportation efforts that a potential Trump administration might try to implement. For Healey, it’s a full-on “Not in My State” stance, even if it means going head-to-head with federal immigration laws.

Healey’s stance comes as ICE releases some alarming data, showcasing the catastrophic consequences of the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous open border policies. According to ICE Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner, over 662,000 illegal immigrants with criminal histories are currently on ICE’s radar. This includes 425,000 individuals already convicted of various crimes and another 226,000 facing pending criminal charges. We’re talking about 13,000 convicted of homicide and 15,000 convicted of sexual assault walking free within our borders, thanks to the Democrats’ obsession with open borders.

In a speech in Bozeman, Montana, Trump didn’t mince words about this crisis. He slammed the Biden administration for turning America into a sanctuary for criminals and vowed to make things right if he’s back in the White House:

“We have a new form of crime, it’s called migrant crime, and it’s gonna be as vicious as any crime ever seen in this country before,” Trump said. “Vote Republican and we will begin the largest deportation operation in American history.”

But Governor Healey? She’s not having it. In an interview with Lawrence O’Donnell, Healey doubled down on her resistance, making it clear that Massachusetts would not be a willing participant in Trump’s deportation plans.

Lawrence O’Donnell: “If the Trump administration requests it, would the Massachusetts State Police assist in mass deportations?”

Maura Healey: “No, absolutely not. We’re going to use every tool in the toolbox — executive powers, state legislation, regulatory authority — to protect our residents.”

Healey’s rhetoric echoes the sanctuary city mantra that’s been championed by Cambridge’s Vice Mayor Marc C. McGovern, who pledged continued support for illegal immigrants, calling Cambridge a “welcoming and supportive community.” But here’s the irony: while Democrats like Healey and McGovern love to tout open borders and humanitarian policies, their tune changes when the consequences land on their own doorstep.

Just ask the residents with “Kamala Harris” signs in their front yards who recently received letters thanking them for volunteering to house migrant families. Suddenly, the idea of open borders isn’t so appealing when it comes with an obligation to actually open your *own* doors.

This hypocrisy was hilariously highlighted by comedian Seth Meiring, who went viral after asking Harris supporters if they backed immigration. Their support quickly evaporated when they realized he was ready to drop off migrants at their homes.

Governor Healey’s commitment to blocking mass deportations might win her applause from progressive activists, but it raises a critical question: At what point does “protecting residents” mean protecting criminals at the expense of law-abiding citizens? With tens of thousands of criminal migrants freely roaming the country, the stakes have never been higher. As Trump gears up to take action, it looks like we’re in for a showdown between federal authority and state-level resistance — and this time, Massachusetts is right in the crosshairs.
