When CNN’s own Harry Enten — a guy not exactly known for MAGA rallies — has to admit how bad things are looking for Chuck Schumer, you know it’s getting ugly. Despite CNN’s usual habit of carrying water for the left, Enten laid down the truth this week: Schumer’s approval among New York Democrats has absolutely cratered.
According to Enten, back in December 2024, Schumer was sitting pretty with a 73% favorable rating among New York Democrats. Fast-forward just a few months later, and that number has fallen off a cliff — down to a pathetic 52%. For a guy who’s supposed to be the big boss of Senate Democrats, that’s downright embarrassing. This is the lowest support Siena College has ever recorded for Schumer in his home state. Let’s be real, when almost half of your own team doesn’t even like you anymore, your political expiration date is flashing in bright neon lights.
So, what happened? Well, Schumer ticked off his base earlier this year when he voted to advance a GOP-backed spending bill to avoid a government shutdown. You’d think saving the government from imploding would be seen as a good thing — but in today’s Democrat Party, the loudest voices are the radical leftists who would rather watch the whole thing burn if they don’t get every single socialist wishlist item funded.
And speaking of radicals, Enten pointed out that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — yes, the socialist darling of the Squad — is sitting pretty with favorability ratings in the 60s among New York Democrats. Let that sink in: the bartender-turned-commie is now more popular than Chuck Schumer in deep-blue New York. You can bet AOC and her backers are licking their chops, already dreaming about a 2028 primary challenge.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer faces mounting criticism, even from media allies, as his leadership falters.
Since Trump’s 2024 victory, Democratic approval ratings have crashed, threatening Schumer’s hold on power.

When asked about his sinking popularity, Schumer couldn’t even string together a coherent defense. His response? “Right now, I am focused on showing the American people how bad Trump’s economics are.” In other words, he’s got nothing. No vision, no leadership, just the same tired Trump Derangement Syndrome that already cost Democrats dearly in 2024.
It’s obvious: the Democrat Party is eating itself alive. Schumer’s trying to play elder statesman while the next generation is sharpening their knives. Maybe he should’ve thought twice before selling out to the radicals — because now they’re coming for his job. And honestly, he deserves it.
