Now this is the kind of legislation conservatives have been waiting for. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) just dropped a bombshell on the Deep State with her newly introduced “American Privacy Restoration Act”—a full repeal of the infamous USA PATRIOT Act. That’s right, she’s going after the sacred cow of post-9/11 surveillance bureaucracy, and it’s about time someone had the spine to do it.
BREAKING: Today, I introduced the “American Privacy Restoration Act” to FULLY REPEAL the Patriot Act and strip rogue intelligence officers of their extraordinary mass surveillance powers.

The Patriot Act, passed in a whirlwind of fear just weeks after 9/11, gave the federal government unprecedented authority to surveil American citizens. All in the name of “national security,” of course. But as we’ve come to learn, especially in the last decade, that vague justification has been used to spy on everyone from journalists to political opponents to—you guessed it—ordinary Americans just living their lives.
Rep. Luna put it plainly in her press release: “Since the passage of the USA Patriot Act in the aftermath of 9/11, intelligence agency officials have used their mass surveillance tools to settle personal scores, interfere in elections, and spy on untold numbers of innocent Americans.” That’s not paranoia. That’s backed up by whistleblowers, declassified reports, and even inspector general findings that confirm our intelligence agencies have run roughshod over the Fourth Amendment.
The legislation aims to fully repeal the Patriot Act—no half-measures, no watered-down reforms. Luna’s bill would gut the framework that turned agencies like the NSA and FBI into Big Brother with a badge. And in her own words, it’s time to “strip the deep state of these tools and protect every American’s fourth amendment right.” Amen to that.
Let’s not forget, this is the same Patriot Act that was abused to justify FISA warrants against President Trump’s campaign. This isn’t just about privacy—it’s about stopping unelected bureaucrats from weaponizing our government against the American people.
Of course, the swamp and its media lapdogs will scream that repealing the Patriot Act makes us “less safe.” But we know the truth: liberty and security aren’t mutually exclusive. What makes us less safe is a government that treats its own citizens like enemies.
Rep. Luna is taking a flamethrower to the surveillance state, and every conservative in Congress ought to back her play. No more excuses. No more delays. Repeal the Patriot Act—completely.
