If you want to know just how off the rails our so-called justice system has gone, look no further than what Alina Habba — President Trump’s new acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey — is calling “the single most un-American thing” she’s seen in her legal career. And she’s not wrong.
In a no-holds-barred interview on The Alex Marlow Show, Habba laid into the politicized mess that now passes for the U.S. legal system, calling out rogue prosecutors, activist judges, and the disturbing trend of weaponizing the courts to go after political opponents. But the worst offense? It’s when lawmakers and judges change the law midstream just to target one man: Donald J. Trump.
“When you start creating laws that avoid statute of limitations to get a political opponent, that is the single most un-American thing, and a real destruction of the judicial system,” Habba warned. And she’s absolutely right. That’s not law enforcement — that’s Soviet-style show trials with a fresh coat of woke paint.
Case in point: New York’s shady little legal backroom deal called the Adult Survivors Act. Governor Kathy Hochul, alongside Trump-hating lawyer Robbie Kaplan, signed this into law to open a one-year window for lawsuits long past the statute of limitations. Who was the very first person targeted under this “totally coincidental” new law? You guessed it — Donald Trump. Habba saw it for what it was: a one-off political hit job disguised as justice.
This is what the left does now. Can’t beat you at the ballot box? Change the rules. Can’t find a crime? Invent one. Can’t win in court? Rig the judge. It’s a disgrace, and Habba isn’t staying quiet about it.
She called out Letitia James for using commercial law statutes meant for business disputes to go after Trump over loans where no one lost a dime. She torched Judge James Boasberg, the Democrat donor who blocked Trump’s deportation orders and now conveniently oversees lawsuits against his administration. And she didn’t mince words about the judges who, behind the scenes, control what juries can and can’t see — altering the course of justice by controlling evidence like puppet masters.
Habba’s ready to clean house. “We fund these courts,” she reminded. “If it comes to it, we will play ball with you, just like you’re playing with us.” Translation: the days of sitting back while Democrats rewrite the law to attack their enemies are over.
Because when justice becomes a tool of revenge, not rule of law, we’re no longer a free country. That’s the line Habba is drawing — and it’s long overdue.
