Maxine Waters Calls Trump Supporters ‘Domestic Terrorists,’ Demands Investigation

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) is back in the headlines with some incendiary remarks that have everyone buzzing. In a recent MSNBC interview, Waters didn’t hold back, labeling supporters of former President Donald Trump as “domestic terrorists” and suggesting they should be investigated for potentially plotting a “civil war.”

During the interview, Waters expressed deep concerns about Trump’s rhetoric, calling it “dangerous” and divisive. She cited his language about retribution and revenge, emphasizing that such talk could incite violence. “I’m worried that he’s so divisive and that he’s talking about retribution, and they’re talking about revenge and I think that that’s dangerous. He’s even mentioned civil war at one point, talked about there would be bloodshed,” she said.

Waters’ remarks have sparked a firestorm of reactions, with critics accusing her of hypocrisy and incitement. Let’s not forget, back in 2018, Waters herself called for public harassment of Trump’s Cabinet members, telling her supporters to confront them wherever they might be found—in restaurants, department stores, or gas stations.

Fast forward to today, and Waters is doubling down on her combative stance. She plans to spend time with the criminal justice system to get answers about what she perceives as a growing threat from Trump supporters. “Tell us what’s going on with the domestic terrorists. Are they preparing a civil war against us? Should we be concerned about our safety?” she asked. Waters’ heightened rhetoric has left many wondering if we’re approaching a new chapter of political conflict in America.

Waters went on to slam Trump for his alleged admiration of authoritarian leaders, claiming that he doesn’t care about democracy or the Constitution. “He’s in love with Putin and Russia and Kim Jong Un and North Korea and all of that,” she said. “This is a man who disrespects the Constitution and democracy, and we have got to find out what they’re doing as domestic terrorists tried to take over the government on January 6.”

Her comments have ignited a fierce debate. Many are accusing her of fear-mongering and say she’s only adding fuel to an already blazing fire of political division. “How far is this going to go?” Waters pondered. “Are they going to be attacking? Whom are they going to attack? What are we going to do?”

So, where do we go from here? As Waters pushes for investigations, the question remains: will her dire warnings prompt action, or will they further polarize an already divided nation?
