Political disagreements are one thing—expected, even. But when Rep. Dave Min (D-CA) decided to attack White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s Christian faith during a heated policy debate, it was clear he didn’t just cross a line—he bulldozed over it.
The controversy erupted after the Biden-appointed judge blocked an Office of Management and Budget (OMB) memo that ordered a freeze on federal grants and loans conflicting with President Trump’s executive orders. While the Left cheered the court’s decision, Leavitt clarified that although the memo had been rescinded, Trump’s policies restricting federal funding for DEI and other progressive pet projects remain firmly in place.
“This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze,” Leavitt posted on X. “It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo to end confusion created by the court’s injunction. The President’s EOs on federal funding remain in full force and effect and will be rigorously implemented.”
Apparently, that was too much for Min to handle. Instead of debating the policy like an adult, he launched a personal attack on Leavitt’s Christian faith. Details of his exact comment remain murky, but it was enough to trigger immediate backlash across social media, with critics slamming Min for dragging religion into political discourse.
"Thou shalt not bear false witness…"@PressSec Karoline Leavitt is a Fake Christian, like so many in this Golden Calf administration. https://t.co/LGs2Rev6lO

Leavitt fired back with class, telling the New York Post:
“I think it’s pitiful for an elected member of Congress to say that about a woman he’s never even met.”
But here’s where the hypocrisy hits peak levels. While Min was busy questioning Leavitt’s faith, critics were quick to remind everyone about his own moral failings—namely, his 2023 DUI arrest while he was a congressional candidate. According to the police report, Min was driving near the Capitol with no headlights on, ran a red light, and showed “signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.” He was promptly booked into Sacramento County jail.

The National Republican Congressional Committee didn’t waste time, blasting Min’s judgment:
“Voters will rightfully question David Min’s judgment after this incident, but will California Democrats?”
Here’s the lesson: If you’re going to throw stones, maybe don’t do it from inside a glass house—especially when that house comes with a rap sheet.
Min’s attack wasn’t just petty; it was a desperate distraction from his own failures. Meanwhile, Karoline Leavitt continues doing her job with grace, integrity, and—unlike some people—a clean record.
