Just when you thought politics couldn’t get more dysfunctional, Democrat Mayor Tiffany Henyard proved otherwise—by jumping into a fistfight at a town board meeting. The already embattled mayor, facing corruption allegations and financial scandals, decided the best way to address criticism was to physically insert herself into a brawl between her boyfriend and an activist.
The Meeting That Turned Into a Melee
What started as a routine meeting quickly descended into chaos when activist Jedidiah Brown called Henyard a derogatory name and demanded her resignation. Moments later, Henyard’s boyfriend, Kamal Woods, confronted Brown, and things got ugly—fast.
The chaotic scene unfolded in front of stunned onlookers, fists flying, officials scrambling, and at one point, Henyard’s wig was ripped off and sent flying across the room. Instead of deescalating the situation, the mayor jumped into the fray, adding yet another bizarre chapter to her already scandal-plagued tenure.

The Aftermath
Brown, undeterred by the melee, vowed to dig deeper into Henyard’s corruption allegations, stating he would use “every bit of my research and skill to scoop up every receipt I may have missed on them all.”
By the time police arrived, everyone involved had already fled the scene. No arrests were made, but the damage was done—both literally and politically.
A Pattern of Corruption and Mismanagement
This latest incident is just one more embarrassing spectacle for Henyard, who has been under fire for financial mismanagement and abuse of taxpayer funds. A recent investigation led by former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot uncovered stunning misuse of public money, including:
$170,000 spent on travel
$51,000 on restaurants
$218,000 in Amazon purchases (including $50,000 for a skating rink!)
Village finances plummeting from a $5.6 million surplus in 2022 to a $3.6 million deficit by 2024
Henyard is also facing 48 lawsuits, including 12 for violating FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests.
Despite the Chaos, Henyard Wants a Second Term
Instead of resigning in disgrace, Henyard announced she’s running for re-election in 2024. If her first term was this disastrous, imagine what four more years could look like.
Dolton residents are left wondering: How much more dysfunction can one small town take?
