On Tuesday evening, Joe Biden hit the campaign trail for Kamala Harris, addressing union workers at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 Training Center in Philadelphia. But rather than showcasing a strong, united front, Biden’s performance drew attention for all the wrong reasons. At 81, Biden’s speech was filled with gaffes and coughing fits, underscoring concerns about his stamina and coherence as he rallied for Harris.
In an attempt to criticize President Trump, Biden stumbled over his words, trying to claim Harris had bested Trump in a debate. “She beat Trump so badly in the debate, he’s scared to death to beat her again!” Biden shouted, seeming to forget that Harris and Trump never actually debated each other. The line, intended as a zinger, instead fell flat and highlighted the disjointedness that has raised eyebrows even among Democrats.
Biden is so far gone, he can't even insult President Trump without botching it: "She beat Trump so badly in the debate, he's scared to death to beat her again!" pic.twitter.com/3HfcjXQ7oK

Biden’s appearance was also marred by persistent coughing, as he struggled to deliver his message while casting aspersions on Trump. “We ain’t goin’ back,” he declared to the crowd in a hoarse voice, perhaps missing the mark with a statement that was less rallying cry and more a sign of his physical struggles.
Adding fuel to the fire, Biden inadvertently confirmed what many conservatives have suspected: that the Department of Justice’s cases against Trump are politically motivated. In a rare candid moment, Biden said, “The same guy who has three other major cases waiting for him when he loses,” referencing the ongoing legal battles Trump faces at the hands of DOJ special counsel Jack Smith. He even went so far as to gloat about Trump’s legal troubles in New York, where Biden’s DOJ sent Matthew Colangelo to assist in prosecuting Trump on 34 felony counts. “He got the sentence kicked back, but I want to watch that sentence,” Biden remarked with a grin, openly expressing his desire to see Trump jailed.
Biden is now openly hoping President Trump — his former top rival before he kicked Biden's ass so bad he dropped out in disgrace — is jailed after the corrupt Democrat-led witch hunt:

The rally, meant to bolster Harris’s candidacy and reassure voters, instead left many questioning the optics of Biden as her top surrogate. It’s no secret that Biden has struggled with coherence and energy, but this event seemed to lay bare those issues for all to see. Rather than presenting Harris as a candidate with momentum, Biden’s performance reminded voters of the challenges within the current administration.
With Harris trying to step out from under Biden’s shadow, it’s moments like these that reveal the difficulties she faces in convincing Americans she’s up to the task. Biden’s fumbles on stage don’t just reflect on him but also cast a shadow over Harris as she works to secure voter confidence heading into 2024.
